General Marriage Information
At least 6 months notice must be given before a marriage can take place.  This is also the case if the wedding is to take place elsewhere.  It is a requirement of the Diocese to allow for the necessary paperwork to be prepared and to enable you to attend a pre-marriage course.

Our Lady of Hal
To be married in the parish the Catholic bride or groom should reside within our boundaries.  If not, but either has a particular attachment to the Church then a wedding is possible with the permission of the priest whose boundaries they actually live in.

Weddings elsewhere
If you live in the parish but wish to marry elsewhere permission can be granted, but no wedding should be booked without first checking with the priest here and again 6 months notice is required.

Documentation
The actual documentation required will be explained to you at your first meeting.  If you are not sure which parish you live in, we will do our best to direct you to it.
